Repair 1: Compressor Issues
Your compressor is responsible for pressurizing the refrigerant in your system. Some common problems that can develop with compressors are motor issues that can develop from low oil levels, electrical issues that develop from faulty wiring and problems from operating with low refrigerant. Compressors are complex components, and as such should only be repaired by a trained and certified technician.
Repair 2: Electrical Issues
Wiring can fray and corrode with regular use, causing problems with electrical flow. When problems develop with electrical flow, components may run intermittently or not at all. Other electrical problems may involve the capacitors. There are 3 motors in your AC system, and each has a start capacitor and a run capacitor. The start capacitor gives the motor the extra boost it needs to start up properly; the run capacitor makes sure that the electricity flowing to the motor is even. When a problem develops with either capacitor, the motor to which the capacitor belongs will be affected.
Repair 3: Fan Issues
There are 2 fans in your air conditioning system: the blower, which is indoors, and the condenser fan, which is in the outdoor unit. Common problems that can occur with fans are bent or loose fan blades, loose motor mounts, dry ball bearings, worn belts and electrical issues. Any time a fan doesn’t operate as needed the air flow in your system can be affected, which can cause system-wide problems.
